Paragraph-Based Writing is a compulsory course in English Language Education, Universitas Internasional Batam. This course is a continuity of Basic Writing Course. This course focuses on the development of good English paragraph in which students identify the genres of texts. Students are expected to be able to develop the paragraph into some texts, such as descriptive text, persuasive text, argumentative text, and exposition text.

Description

This Reading and Vocabulary course is a compulsory subject for English Language Education at Universitas Internasional Batam. This course emphasizes on students' basic reading comprehension. The students are expected to be able to develop basic skills in understanding simple English texts. In addition, this course also integrates English vocabulary recognition in certain fields such as family, profession, and other topics that can help students understand simple English texts and enrich vocabulary.

In this complex world with advanced technology, the interaction among people with different background is inevitable. In order to maintain a good relation and smooth communication, understanding about other cultures is an absolute need for global citizen. This lesson will help students to understand the plurality of other cultures in the society across the globe. Students will have an adequate knowledge and practice of communicating with other cultures. The obstacle of a successful intercultural communication will also be a subject of discussion in this lesson. Students are expected to have a good intercultural communication skill and the understanding of other cultures by the end of this lesson.

Course Description: Teaching English for Young Learners  (TEFYL)  is a Compulsory Course for English Language Education students at Universitas Internasional Batam.  In this course, students will learn about some theories and techniques in TEFYL. Students are expected to be able to demonstrate and practice TEFYL in the end of semester.
